Paris based beauty retailer Sephora (operating under the LVMH corporate umbrella) has opened its largest North American store in Toronto. Located at RioCan's Yonge Eglinton Centre (2300 Yonge Street), the store is one of several new locations for Sephora's 'Toronto Takeover' initiative that involves expanding operations in the Greater Toronto Area. We discussed the initiative at length in a recent article.
The Yonge Eglinton Centre Sephora spans 10,459 square feet, according to a RioCan lease plan, surpassing the size of all existing locations on the continent. The one-level store feels vast and features a street-front entrance, as well as an entrance leading directly into the office lobby of an adjacent office tower/retail podium.

Yonge Eglinton Centre is a strategic location for Sephora, being at the second-busiest pedestrian intersection in the city. Footfall will only increase with new residential development in the area (including both condominium and rental buildings) as well as the addition of the $5.3 billion Eglinton Crosstown light rail rapid transit line which is expected to be completed in 2021.

Sephora held an opening party for its newest Toronto store last week, which drew considerable crowds into the store. Excited shoppers tested products, ate and drank, and some had their photos taken in a photo booth. Photos in this article are from that event, hence the crowds seen in the store.
