Upscale French skincare brand Caudalie will open its first ‘Caudalie House’ on Hazelton Avenue in Toronto’s Yorkville area. The combined retail and spa space, which will also feature the brand’s new Canadian headquarters upstairs, is expected to be open by December of this year.

The 3,570 square foot multi-level Yorkville space will include about 1,600 square feet of retail space on its main floor that will include areas for retail sales at the front, as well as areas for spa consultations, mini-facials and other services offered by Caudalie. Caudalie House will be contained in a heritage building at 17 Hazelton Avenue which itself was once a residence and now acts as commercial space, as is the case with many buildings in the area. Stan Vyriotes and David Wedemire of DWSV Remax Ultimate Realty negotiated the Hazleton Avenue lease deal on behalf of Caudalie.

The Hazelton Avenue Caudalie House will be one of only two in the world to feature a combined boutique spa and headquarters space in the same building. The Caudalie House in Seoul, South Korea, also features a headquarters for the brand for that country.

Caudalie says that it chose Yorkville because of its reputation for being a high-end area with a mix of retail, restaurants and upscale services. The rapidly-growing high-density Bloor-Yorkville area is considered to be Canada’s wealthiest high-density area and is home to numerous flagship stores and wealthy households. The neighbourhood features a mix of high-end retailers as well as restaurants and beauty services catering to the city’s carriage trade.

The Yorkville location is part of Caudalie’s Canadian expansion as the brand establishes itself in the Canadian market. The brand, which opened its first Canadian storefront in 2014, currently operates two boutique spa storefronts in suburban Montreal (Quartier DIX30 in Brossard and at CF Carrefour Laval) as well as at CF Sherway Gardens in Toronto.

The company says that it plans to open more boutique spa locations in Canada with the Vancouver area being a focus. We’ll continue to follow Caudalie as it continues to grow its presence in the Canadian market.
