GUCCI AND GALERIES LAFAYETTE PARTNER, OPENING 7 NEW GUCCI SHOP-IN-STORE LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT FRANCE

Gucci and French department store Galeries Lafayette have partnered to bring 7 Gucci shops to Galeries Lafayette stores in Nantes, Toulouse, Biarritz, Marseille, Bordeau, Nice (Massena) and Strasbourg. The Nantes location is already open, and the other locations will open Summer 2012.  This is the inception of multiple luxury-branded boutiques to open at Galeries Lafayette stores throughout France.

Galeries Lafayette already has a dedicated Gucci boutique at its flagship Paris store.  It further continues to open new luxury boutiques and to carry new designers, including a Dior accessories boutique in Nice (Massena location) and a Bulgari jewelry boutique at its store in Lille.

Watch for 'luxury floors' to open at some of the above Galeries Lafayette stores. This strategy is in the spirit of competing with Printemps stores which are also in the process of marketing luxury labels throughout its French stores.
