Top Five Soccer Shirt Sales Worldwide

Fans from around the world show their support for a team by purchasing the latest shirts and other merchandise. But who sells the most?

Here are the top five clubs for worldwide soccer shirt sales.

#5 Liverpool

Liverpool have just won the Premier League title, making them hugely popular with those around the world who wagered on them using the new online betting sites that are available.

On top of that, they had many fans show their support for them by buying shirts. In the 2018/19 season, 1,670,000 people bought Liverpool shirts to support the club.

#4 Barcelona

The Spanish giants attract players from all over the world, and for that reason their shirts are always popular. Alongside this, they also regularly go on worldwide tours to promote their brand which certainly helps with sales.

For many years in the past, Barcelona allowed the charity UNICEF to sponsor their kit which resulted in the club paying to have UNICEF on their shirt, rather than sell the rights to the highest bidder. That could well have had an impact on sales too, and during the 2018/19 season they sold a total of 1,925,000 shirts to fans around the world.

#3 Bayern Munich

The German giants sell more than double the amount of shirts as their rivals in Germany, Borussia Dortmund. They are the biggest name in German football, have a presence all over the world and when you see them selling more shirts than Barcelona and Liverpool, it shows what a great job they have done.

The Germans sold 2,575,000 shirts around the world during the 2018/19 season and their constant success both domestically and in Europe will ensure their name remains in the spotlight and large numbers of shirt sales continue.

#2 Real Madrid

The battle for supremacy in Spain is often a great watch with Real Madrid and Barcelona going hard at it. In terms of shirt sales for the season 2018/19, the clear winner was Real Madrid, who thanks to having some huge star names at the time, sold the second most shirts of any club around the world.

It wasn’t that close between the two Spanish teams either, Real Madrid sold 3,120,000 shirts which was over 1 million more than Barcelona sold during the same period. This well and truly showed who was king in Spain.

#1 Manchester United

In terms of football, there is no bigger global brand than Manchester United. They sold 3,250,000 shirts during the 2018/19 season, and this is a period when they have not been at their best. They are still best, despite that.
